Damon Van Leeuwen
Damon enters his first season at the Sports Shack. He has achieved great success at the high school level. He has been an assistant coach on the girls’ team at Windward School for the past 12 years. His teams have consistently ranked in the top ten and have made the playoffs each season, reaching the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS championships in 2005. Damon has also coached in the boys’ program at Windward as well. His boys’ team reached the semifinals in the CIF-SS playoffs in 2003 and won a CIF-SS championship in 2004. He was named Division V Coach of the Year in 2004.
In his collegiate career, Damon played Division III volleyball at UCSC where he led his team as the setter and captain. In high school, Damon played at perennial powerhouse Palisades High School.
Damon is a Level I certified coach with USA Volleyball and is currently working toward his Level II certification. Currently, Damon is engaged and lives in Venice.
