Kaitlin Sather

 

This is Kaitlin's fifth year coaching at the Sports Shack.  Outside the Shack she has Coached at volleyball camps all over the country including Gold Medal Squared Camps and UCLA Men's and Women's Volleyball Camps.

As a player Kaitlin just finished her first season as a professional in Puerto Rico May of 2010.  In college Kaitlin was a four-year starter at UCLA from 2005-2009.  (She red-shirted in 2008 due to shoulder surgery)  At UCLA Kaitlin became the 12th player in school history to record 1,000 kills and digs.  She left the school 11th in all-time kills.  Sather was named to the PAC-10 All-Freshman team, and was honorable mention All-PAC-10 as a junior,  All-PAC 10 as a senior and then was chosen as a AVCA Honorable Mention All-American her senior season.  She was also a high jumper on the track and field team.  She is most proud of graduating Cum Laude and being recognized as an ESPN All District Scholar Athlete in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

While in college Kaitlin also earned the honor of being UCLA's nominee for NCAA Women of the Year for Achievements in athletics and community service.  In 2010 she named UCLA PAC-10 Medal winner for performance in scholarship, athletics, and leadership.  She was also UCLA Athletic Department winner of the Leadership Award in 2008.

Kaitlin went to Maria Carrillo HIgh School in Santa Rosa, CA.  She became a high school Mizuno All-American in volleyball.  She also competed on the track, basketball, and badminton teams throughout her high school career.
