Nikki Casale
Biography:
This is Nikki's 3rd year coaching for the Sports Shack VBC.
Casale was a two-sports athlete at Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, California. She played four years of volleyball at outside hitter and earned All-Freeway League honors each year. She was named team MVP as a senior and Best Defensive Player as a junor. Nikki was chosen for the North/South All-County All Star Game. She was named team captain her last three years and received the captain's award in 2005. She helped the Indians to an undefeated Freeway League season as a freshman coached by Wendy Vrolyk. Also honored as Best Defensive Player with the Youth High Performance Team in 2006, helping her team to an undefested record. Not only did she play volleyball but she was a midfielder in soccer for two seasons, earning all-league accolades in 2006. She played club volleyball with TCA, placing fifth at the 2007 Junior Olympic Open and first in the 2008 JO Open. Currently Nikki is playing at UCLA in her thrid year.
Personal:
Born Nicolette Medora Casale in Anaheim, California on February 22, 1990. Her parents are Julie and Joseph Casale. She has three sisters, Bridgette, Meghan and Shannon. The number one reason for competing in volleyball is because of her love for the game and the feeling of working hard as an individual and team to achieve greatness. Her hobbies include doing anything active like surfing, snowboarding and riding bikes. The biggest athletic thrill to date was scoring a touchdown during a powder puff football game. She choose UCLA because of the tradition of the school and its tremendous academics and athletics.
