Sports Shack receives more national attention: After Moorpark outside hitter Rachael Kidder (No. 10) and Harvard-Westlake of Studio City middle blocker Krystle Higgins (No. 77) were recognized among the top 100 high school prospects in the class of 2009 - according to PrepVolleyball.com editor John Tawa - more accolades came Saturday for local volleyball players.

And nearly all of them compete for the Beverly Hills-based club Sports Shack.

Flintridge Sacred Heart of La Canada Flintridge's Jenna Orlandini and Thousand Oaks' Hannah Clancy and Ellen Querrey - all of whom compete at the club's 18-under level under the direction of Pepperdine women's assistant Tim Jensen - were all recognized among the country's top 250 seniors by Tawa.

Orlandini, who has committed to Washington, was listed among the top 25 liberos/defensive specialists nationally, only four of which compete in California.

The Dayton-bound Clancy was one of 48 setters recognized, including nine from California. Querrey, an Arizona commit, is among the 75 outside hitters acknowledged, 15 representing California.

Village Christian of Sun Valley outside hitter Rachel Taylor, who competes for San Gabriel Valley Roshambo, was listed among the nation's top 300 prospects. Taylor led Village Christian to a Southern Section Div. IV-A title last year.
